The
reserve lies opposite the Aiguilles Rouge and Mont
Blanc ranges and dominates the middle section of
the Arve valley.
Since 1980 the reserve and its 1717 hectares bridge
the gap between the Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval and the Aiguilles
Rouges reserves.
These
areas are fragile, hence special regulations apply:
dogs are only permitted on the track leading to
the Moëde refuge, tents can only pitched from 7
pm to 9 am, flowers can be admired but not picked,
and all rubbish must be taken home with you. Please
adopt a nature-friendly attitude at all times.
A welcome chalet at Passy
Pleine-Joux is at you service to answer all your
questions.
The permanent exhibition "Passy, a history of changing
scenery" takes you back in time with the help of
Quartzy the mascot. The story of Passy's evolution
is told by means of wall fresques: hear about the
giant dragonflies, the dinosaurs of Emosson and
the rhinoceros's ancestry. An expert is on hand
to answer any questions you may have.
The chalet's free reading corner possesses books,
reviews and comics which deal with animal and plant
life as well as some geology. Additionally, the
trail "sentier Grand-Père Nature, is a themed walk
where legends and history come together with the
help of some friendly forest and mountain dwellers.
