To mark its 35th anniversary, the International Mountain Book Fair invites you to enjoy an unforgettable literary and human adventure in the heart of the majestic Mont Blanc valley. From 8 to 10 August 2025, the Parvis des Fiz will be transformed into a meeting place where people can meet, share ideas and reflect on contemporary issues and the natural beauty and culture of the mountains.
A forward-looking literary fair
The International Mountain Book Fair is open to all forms of expression: novels, essays, stories, photography and comic strips. This event celebrates the wealth of voices that bear witness, tell stories and imagine the future of our mountains, which have been made fragile by climate change and the excesses of human activity.
Authors, artists and scientists join forces to bring powerful and inspiring stories to life. Together, they question man’s place in nature and the urgent need to invent new practices that are more respectful of the environment.
The mountains, a source of reflection and emotion
At the heart of the programme, mountain comics now occupy a special place. They plunge us into adventure, contemplation and reflection on the risks and joys of mountaineering. Through the art of the 9th art, creators convey strong messages, combining humour and seriousness, hope and memory.
The exhibition is also an opportunity to learn about and debate the consequences of global warming. Glaciers in danger, biodiversity under threat, changing landscapes… scientists and writers share their observations and their commitment to preserving the Alps.
A unique venue to celebrate reading and the mountains
The Salon International du Livre de Montagne in Passy is first and foremost a time for conviviality and sharing. With a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc, visitors are invited to take in the sights and sounds of the mountains. Each meeting becomes a breath of fresh air and a source of inspiration for a more responsible future.
Between conferences, book signings and exhibitions, lovers of mountains and words will find this event a place to dream and reflect. 2025 is the Year of the Glacier, and the Salon de Passy intends to make it a powerful symbol: of the beauty and fragility of the peaks, and of hope for a better future.
